In chapter 2 it's mostly about Valerine and Ashna.
In chapter 2 you see how the Humans travel from Revulas to Sevletar and a little bit about the taking over of Revulas by the Dwarves. On the way to Sevletar, the Humans get suprised by an attack of Trolls. During this attack the father of Ashna, the Emperor, Verdant dies. This leads to deep sadness for Ashna. She doesn't want to talk with anyone anymore. She wants to be alone.
The Humans get saved because the Elves send help and beat the Trolls.
Valerine is concerned, because she doesn't want Ashna to do stupid things, because Ashna is going to be the Empress of the Humans. Valerine writes a letter to Gavanariel in which she asks if he can pay extra attention to Ashna.
At the end of this chapter, they see the gate to Sevletar.
