Greenhouse Gases
Greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and water vapor, are gases found in the earth's atmosphere. They produce the greenhouse effect because they allow solar radiation from the sun to pass through them, but they do not allow the infrared radiation reflected by the earth to pass through.
