From our last trip in 2001: These first three pictures show our dinner at the home of DaeHyun Kim, our former exchange student. His mother prepared a gorgeous feast for us, and his whole family made us feel very welcome. In the first picture, Soo Hyun "tries on" the dress we got her. In the third picture, DaeHyun and HyunBin demonstrated Korean-style wrestling holds.
To the right is the couple who volunteered to provide dinner in their home. The food was excellent, and the conversation delightful. Mr. Hwang is retired and has started a remodeling company, Housemaker Remodeling. One of his daughters also joined us for dinner, and then his wife played the piano for us after dinner.
The guys with guitars are Byung-Yoon Lee, above, and Young-Ho Lee, right. Young-Ho studied with Eric at Ohio State University, and Byung-Yoon was in elementary school in Ohio when we lived there. It was great to catch up with them, and we stayed at their house on our final night in Korea, with Gabriel in tow. Kil-Rye, the wife, was wonderfully helpful with the baby.

In this picture, Eric is with Jung-Yun Kim, our volunteer tour guide, who took us to lunch and on various sight-seeing excursions on one day of our stay. She is my age, and is an English teacher at several different Korean universities.

Here I am pictured with Dyne Kim, her father Yong Sung, and her mother Kyung Ae. Dyne was an exchange student in our town, and we got to know her well in January 2000 in Salem. Her family treated us to a wonderful breakfast during our stay in Seoul, and to a trip to this part, which was at one of the highest locations in the city.
We want to say thank you again to all of the Korean friends who helped us to have a wonderful time in Korea, during both of our visits!!!! We especially want to thank YoungHo Lee and MyungHwan Kim for their gracious and generous hospitality this last trip!

First four pictures, below: MyungHwan Kim treated our family to a very special dinner theater, with incredible food (including octopus), and great entertainment. Gabe and SooHyun played well together, despite the language barrier.
Left to right: Eric, Gabe, DaeHyun (now 15, our former exchange student), HyunBin, DaeHyun's mother, me, SooHyun (2.5), MyungHwan Kim, and Robyn (my sister).
Left: Mr. YoungHo Lee, and his wife, KilRye, were extremely gracious to us. Mr. Lee rented a van to take us to the DMZ and Korean folk village, and they fed us great meals twice - once in their home, and once in a wonderful restaurant.
