this is a rant about morons. not all morons in general, i don't have time to detail my specific hate for each type, just one particular type. let me explain. you know when you're in a moshpit, having a great time jumping around and losing yourself in the atmosphere and music? and then some huge motherfucker appears and with one swipe of his hairy first, blats you in the face? that type of moron.

this ain't accidental, clumsy blatting-in-the-face i'm talking about. i'm talking about the cunts who shell out cash for festivals to see bands they don't care about, just because they want to be hardcases and beat the shit out of people. i went to this year's ozzfest and there were thousands of people there, throwing themselves around, having a great time and not hurting anyone. and there were also a few fuckers throwing themselves around, having a great time and hurting as many people as possible. to those people, listen: YOU ARE WANKERS. SMASHING PEOPLE IN THE FACE OR CHEST OR RIBS AS HARD AS YOU CAN DOES NOT MAKE YOU COOL OR HARDCORE. IT JUST MAKES IT ALL THE MORE LIKELY THAT AT SOME POINT YOU'RE GOING TO TURN YOUR BACK, AND THE KID YOU JUST KNOCKED DOWN IS GOING TO GET UP AND AIM A SWIFT FUCKING KICK AT YOUR HEAD. AND WE WILL ALL POINT AND LAUGH.

i don't get the thought process behind it. you can hurl yourself around in a crowd, you can go crazy in a circle pit and mosh like a fucker, without hurting anyone [certainly not seriously or intentionally]. so why do it? people like this are just the musical equivalent of organised football hooligans [in fact they probably are the football hooligans], they go along and ruin it for everyone else. they are scum.

what really bugs me is no-one stops these people. ozzfest were oh-so-vocal about crowdsurfing - surfers got a mark on their hand when they came over the barrier, two strikes and you're out the back door, no bands, no refund. despite the fact that crowdsurfing rarely seriously hurts anyone. meanwhile these sick screwed up fuckers were in the pit beating ten shades out of everyone they could, even people who blatantly aren't up for that kind of action; they weren't just slamming into people in the centre of the circle pits, they were ramming and punching people outside the circle - i got whacked in the face by one of these guys during disturbed's kerrang stage set, i saw another cunt in front of the main stage at one point doing exactly the same to other people and trying to start serious fights - not the kind where you slam into someone then slap em on the back afterwards, the kind where you draw blood and hit to hurt. nobody did a damn fucking thing about these pricks, and i'd put money on the notion that a lot more people get hurt this way than from getting an accidental kick from a crowdsurfer.

"violence is not a solution." fuck that; i wish people would collectively jump on these twats' heads wearing steel-capped boots, then perhaps they might get an inkling of what it feels like to get hurt - god knows they fucking deserve it.
