A theory my boss explained to me...
When you reach your mid twenties, you have
already lived half you life. This is assuming that you will
live to eighty. Why the big imbalance? If you are past this mid point, just
think, how much of the last few years can you remember. I used to remember
all the little things... now only the big events stick out. When you are younger,
you are able to perceive much more and retain a higher attention for knowledge.
Now that life has settled down, you start to fit into a groove and a routine
of your life, you are not able to open your eyes and open your mind to your
surroundings anymore. Everything from this point on becomes a blur. I seem
to remember so much more before.... Ask me all the things that I remember
from the last year... Japan, Las Vegas, Victoria, Hawaii..... all the times
that I was away from the routine and able to open my self up again... All
else...just a dissolving picture.... Is this an age issue or is losing the
pursuit for knowledge caused us to forget the pursuit of memories in our day
to day life. We sometime know that we have a good time when and if we go out,
but the particulars always seem to elude us. Then next time someone asked,
"What's New" just think why you tend to reply "not much".....
