Each knight wears upon them an armor made of
Black Mithril. The Plate Armor is always ready to be worn and can be worn
instantly. The armor is absorbed into the flesh of the demon and can be called
forth at will. The armor seems to seep through the pours of the host body till
it completely covers the knight. The Armor is so light that it is almost like
your not wearing any but is strong to hold off even the mightiest blows. The
armor is made of the exceptionally rare and precious metal, Black Mithril. Once
purified, forged, and alloyed correctly, this metal is virtually indestructible,
immune to all forms of attack. It can not be harmed by heat, cold electricity,
or acid. The mail is immune to all forms of magic, behaving as if imbued with an
anti-magic sphere.
Also each night will have an Abyssal Claw. The
Abyssal Claw is a bracer that covers a lot of your forearm. Upon the top part
that levels out to the back of your hand is three channels. Within these each of
these channels is a black claw. Upon command, which is but a thought, the claws
come forth and extend beyond the back of the persons hand. Each impact of the
causes the areas around the wounds to begin to rot and decay. This weapon is
thanks to the Shroud Knights.
A
ShadowLore Blade in its natural form appears to be a longsword, with a
flat bar of black stone in place of a blade. In this form it is little
better than a club, lacking even sharp edges. It is when attuned to the
essence of a Shadow Demon that the weapon shows its true power. When the
essence flows through the blade, it moves to a place between worlds. It
flickers between Creation and the fearsome Void. Looking upon it, only
its shadow is seen, and it shimmers as portions of the blade blink into
existence, then fade away again. In this form, it looks not unlike a
shadow falling on the surface of rippling water.
The
blade of a ShadowLore is not fully part of Creation, and its path is not
barred or even slowed by Creation’s materials. It passes through stone
and steel as easily as through the air. The enchantments which bind the
blade call to the substance of souls. Passing through a living being,
parts of the blade will return to Creation, then fade away again,
carrying flesh with it to the ever-hungry Void. The wounds created by
this weapon are truly horrendous. Legends tell of enemies being cut
bloodily into halves, leaving their armor pristine and untouched.
Also,
the wielder of the ShadowLore is immune to all mind-altering powers.
System:
When attuned to Shadow Demon, the blade of a ShadowLore will simply not
interact with most materials, passing through them as though they had no
substance. This has three primary effects:
1. ShadowLore ignores all armor soak and shield penalties.
2. ShadowLore cannot be parried with a weapon or shield.
3. ShadowLore cannot be used to parry most weapons.
Obviously there are other, smaller, effects as well, such as being near
impossible to break while insubstantial, and being difficult and
dangerous to keep in a scabbard when not in use.
The
only time ShadowLore will act as a normal blade is when striking
something living. Or, more accurately, something with a soul. This
includes nearly all plants and animals, spirits elementals, vampires,
demons, and many ghosts. It also includes items forged from souls. A
ShadowLore Blade will deal damage to these as normal, and can be parried
as normal.
There
are only five of such blades in existence.
