THE KNIGHTS OF LITHUANIA

Anthracite Council -- 144

Humanitarian Aid:

We have reduced our shipments until further notice.

Council 144 has been sending aid to Lithuania since it was chartered, but since 1997 the Humanitarian Aid committee has been keeping complete records. The approximate number of pounds shipped to date is over 27,000. A series of readers from kindergarten through ninth grade were sent, and reading programs were started in three schools. Our aid is primarily sent to the poorest in villages, churches, hospitals, orphanges, small schools and a few individuals who need emergency aid.

We have donated beautiful clothing (we only send the very best), but are always in need of footware, especially winter boots, new underwear, bed linens, bed pads, children's winter jackets, vitamins, Aspirin, Tylenol, cough medicines, Ovaltine, Tang, canned meats and monetary donations for shipping.
