She also had a brother, Peter, who went to America before her; his family never heard back from him, so they believed he must have died. Gertrude Christina Rasmussen lived with her aunt and uncle, Lean and Christ Jensen, when she came to the United States. She lived with them on a dairy farm they owned near what is now the Lake Of The Isles in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She married William Melvin Forsell, supposedly, in 1880.
