60. George Augustus Savory was born in 1832. He died in 1888 in Kansas City, MO from pneumonia. George married Lucinda P. Linton on 28 Jul 1853 in South Berwick, Maine. [Parents]

George Augustus Savory and his wife, Lucina (Linton) made their home in the Falls of Saint Anthony in May of 1854. After the birth of their first child, Charlotte, he sent his family back to Dover, NH because the Native Americans living in the area at the time were a menace to the settlers in the area. After his family returned, their first son William was born in 1857. George A. Savory opened the first drug store in the small village of The Falls of Saint Anthony. He later moved his business to the Nicollet House in the city of Minneapolis, MN. In 1872 the village of The Falls Of Saint Anthony and the city of Minneapolis merged under the name of the city of Minneapolis. For reasons not totally clear to me, George A. Savory left his wife and children, and died in Kansas City, MO in 1888.

The following information was taken from the book "Early Marriages of Strafford County, New Hampshire, 1630-1860" by Robert Sayward Canney, published in 1995 by Heritage Books:
