Welcome to Eric Fithyan
as the Key
Club Div. One Lt. Governor for 2001-2002.
We have 7 active sponsored
youth clubs for 2001. These clubs are very active and represent
an example to all youth with their volunteer activities in the
community.
Our newest S.Y. club was recently
chartered in April 2002, and will make the 8th club we
sponsor: Mount de Chantal Builders Club. We're
proud of the Mount!!! This club for middle school
students will feed into the Mount Key Club.
When news reports are available, we like to
feature them here on our website. We encourage all the
sponsored youth clubs to send us their news to:

Former Div. 1 Key
Club Lt. Governor Rick Morgan is attending WV Wesleyan this fall.
Rick is doing well and is active in Circle K.

News:
|
Under new Lt.
Governor Eric's leadership, Division 1A & 1B have been
reconsolidated for the remainder of this fiscal year. In
July they will be separated again. Membership totals for
the 2 divisions is 523.
The Division recently participated in a Rosebud Project for
St. Jude's Hospital for Valentine's Day.
District Projects this year have been a fund
for the children of Afghanistan and St. Jude's Hospital.
The District's goal is $15,000.
The Wake! Up! Live! Big! smoke free campaign
continues this year as a way to enlighten kids about the risks
and dangers of smoking.
The WV Key Club will soon have a website at
www.wvkeyclub.com.
The 2002 Key Club District Convention will be held at
the Marriott in Charleston on April 12-14.
International Convention will be July 3-7,
2002 in Anaheim, CA

Bishop Donahue Key
Club was chartered in July 2001. Thanks to Rick
Morgan for a lot of hard work in helping get this club off the
ground.

News: Br. Renee and his Key Clubbers have been regularly
attending our luncheon meetings.

News: The WPHS Key Club conducted an Animal
Shelter Drive in September and a PTO Cleanup in October. In November the
Club has its Christmas in the Country Toy collection. December
is bell-ringing month. Soup kitchen, Laughlin Chapel,
Oglebay Mansion Museum and tutoring
continue as activities of this club.
Mount

News: For the Spring The Mount Key Club has a lot going
on. In march they are doing the Rosebud Project and
officer elections; April will be devoted to the Wake Up/Love
Big presentations and District Convention. In May the
Club is washing cars to raise funds for St. Jude's Children's
Research Hospital and hopes to do a project with the Wheeling
Symphony auction.
This club got off to a busy start this
year, coordinating a walk-a-thon with $1,880 in proceeds going to the
Catholic Neighborhood Center for blankets.
Other successful projects this year included the Heart
Walk and the Marshall County Dog Walk. Operation Christmas Child, collecting toys, supplies, etc for
children around the world; collecting
hats, mittens, scarves for local children's shelters and Penny
Wars; Rosebud Project and Bowl for Kids Sake.

Triadelphia Middle School: Liaison: Steve
Johnston
Faculty Adviser: Becky Disaia
News: Triadelphia recently participated in Project
Rosebud. The Club made 150 "Rosebud" cards for
the American Cancer Society.
Triadelphia is the biggest Builders Club
in the Division and possibly in the District.
Warwood Middle School: Liaison: Jan Shelburne
Faculty Adviser: Rhea Rodgers
News: This new Builders Club also participated in
Project Rosebud and made 150 "Rosebud" cards for the
American Cancer Society. Earlier this year they
participated in America's Promise "Make a
Difference" day. The day featured groups across
America assisting their less fortunate neighbors.
Warwood officers and faculty adviser visited the sponsoring
noon Kiwanis club on February 15 to accept their charter.
We are proud to sponsor this very active club.
