Rufous Hummingbird This Selasphorus hummingbird, presumably a Rufous (Selasphorus rufus) spent 8/19-20/00 in my backyard in Richardson, Texas. It appears to be an adult female. This is a rare but annual species in North-Central Texas. Photos were taken with a cheap one-use camera with 800 speed film, held up to a Bushnell 50mm scope at 16x, through a glass door.
