| There are many types of online terms for games, and Battlefield Vietnam is no exception. Here's a list of the most common ones, however I did not list any words that would be inappropriate for younger gamers. Anyway, here's the list: BFV: Battlefield Vietnam. Much easier than typing the whole thing. Afk: Away from keyboard. This usually is used to explain why a player does not respond to a person who is trying to send a message to someone, for example:"Quit yelling man, that guy's Afk." Newb, Newbie/Noob,Noobie: Many people do not know the difference between Newb and Noob. A Newb is someone who is new to a specific game, as in "Some people like to annoy Newbs because of their inexperience." Noob is an insult, saying what the person is talking about or is doing makes them look stupid, as in "Stop acting like a Noob, man." Newbie and Noobie are the same thing. own/owned:Completly whooped, as in "The F4 just flew over our cp and dropped napalm, spreading a firey ball of ownage that incinerated anything in it's flaming path."Pwn and Pwned mean the same thing. Lol: Laugh out loud. A term used to say something is funny and made the person laugh, as in "Lol you just got owned." Rofl: Rolling on the floor laughing. A stronger version of Lol, as in "Rofl, nice flying dude." Spawn/respawn:In Battlefield terms, respawning means to reappear at a spawn point after dying. Spawning means appearing at a spawn point for the first time in the game. Spawn camper: An enemy unit that stays near a spawn location and gains kills against spawning players. CP/Control Point: A capturable spawn point, an area where you can spawn or respawn. Spawn point: Anywhere, including Command Posts, where players can spawn. Mobile Spawn Point: A spawn point which can be moved by allied units and should be an important target for enemy units. The mobile spawn points in this game are explained in the Mobile Spawns section of the website. |
