Classroom Management Classroom Managers - I have managers for everything even a Greeting manager to greet visitors so they do not interupt me while I am teaching.
Stickers for good behavior - Stickers were put on incentive sheets purchased from the teacher store. When a student collected 5 stickers, they were able to go to the Treasure Chest. Once, they completed the sheet which is 25 stickers, they received a bigger prize. Monthly behavior charts can be downloaded for free at Busy Teacher's Cafe . Points - Students were grouped into groups of 4. Each had a team name. I awarded points (squares of construction paper) for working well as a team, staying on-task, walking quietly down halls, etc. The point were put in a manilla envelope posted at the front of the class. They could not see inside. Points were collected everyday and put inside the envelope. On Fridays, we counted to see how many points each team had. The team with the highest points got popcorn, or chips, etc.
Class Compliments - This year I will implement this strategy. I will have a clipboard with date and compliment. I will choose a student manager to be in charge of this. Each time another teacher, or adult compliments the class for good behavior they will get a point in a jar. To start the year, I will give them a goal of 20. When they reach the goal, we'll have a popcorn party.
