Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month
You just received a phone call that you won an all-expense paid trip to any Spanish speaking country of your choice.  In order to claim your prize, you have to put together a portfolio of how Hispanic Americans have contributed to the many areas of American life through science, art, entertainment, literature, sports and many other ways.
With a partner, you will work together to create a portfolio.  In your portfolio, the following items will be included to increase your understanding of Hispanic Heritage.

Give a one minute oral presentation of your portfolio.

1.  Choose one of the countries below.  Be sure to put your names next to the country of your choice.  Only one group per country.

2.  Use the Internet resources above to research information about your chosen country. Use the travel guide template or create a poster that includes general background information about the country, places of interest, and activities for visitors.
3.  Make a flag of your country by going to

4.  Print a map of your country at
Fact Monster - Countries of the World and include it in your portfolio.

5.  Each person choose a Famous Hispanic American and complete
biography worksheet.

6.  Visit the following websites:

7.  Practice giving your one minute presentation.
