The Lab Rats...Most of my really close guy friends in high school were the guys that I hung out with in the Internet Lab run by our dear own Lab Nazi, Mr. Peel. We used to stay after school for a couple of hours and talk, program, surf, or whatever and dubbed ourselves the Lab Rats. Perhaps the epitomy of our senior year at Joplin High was the making of the Lab Rats' feature film Secret Agent Deadman. The script was written by DL, and everyone except I acted (despite the fact that I indeed had a part). DL has written the screenplay for the Secret Agent Deadman sequel, but no filming dates have been made as of yet. Current members of the Lab Rats include myself, DL (Daniel Lynch), Uncle Dan (Danial Mathias Messer), Hurley (Jason Hurley), and Josh Armstrong (Deadman). >>>> Current Lab Rat Pics <<<< My other friends...One of my Very BEST friends all through high school was 'psycho chicken' Stephani Ball. Over the years we've shared so much - violin practice, tae kwon do, working out at the Y, late night talks, statue imitating, scoping out hot guys, shopping, cookouts, sufing, making a 'secret hideout' in the attic, and just about everything else. I have always thought of Stephani as a sister. Erin Gray and her sister Crystal Gray, my childhood friends, will always seem like sisters to me as well. I remember one crazy summer day when we went cruizing around town with all the windows down blasting loud, obnoxious, and offensive music at everyone. That was so fun. Aaron Beck, my greatest theatre bud ever, and I have a lot of memories too. I'll always remember Cats, Hello Dolly!, The Diary of Anne Frank (hubba hubba), the OK Mozart Festival, Khoker's crazy theatrical attempts at church, yucky Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, Monty Python impersonations ('can I kiss you?'), Kim's Wednesday night class, Louisville (Brown Berry's, Ledgewalker, the magic shop), Charlotte (The Bistro and sky mall), and our YUCKY 'oom pa pa' piano duet!! =) A list of friends would not be complete without mentioning my great friend Benjamin Caleb Callihan. I'll never forget the Renaissance festivals ('M'lady, would you like to buy your man some nuts?' Robin Hood, the Red Cardinal) algebra class, jumping off 4th street bridge, that videotape I never got back (grrr) or sneaking over to your house to watch premium satellite programming =). Lindsey Brooks, I love you!! I could never forget our attempts to get out of gym class, 'va, team, va!', Mr. St. John's class, office duty together at the Jr. High, Algebra class, Mrs. Myers' class, or touching that electric fence at your house while it was on...I'm so stupid sometimes. =) My friendship with my pen pal John Rohrer, whom I affectionately refer to as 'Paly,' goes WAY back to 6th grade. We've shared many hopes and dreams as we've grown, and I think I owe much of what I've become as a person to John's influence over the years. John is the smartest person I've ever had the privilage to call 'friend.' His drive to learn and to expand his horizons have always been an inspiration to me. Sorry we didn't end up doing the MIT thing...but I don't suppose that was really right for either of us anyway. I wish you the best of luck in all you choose to do, Paly. Thank you. Tracy Williamson, I'm so glad I finally found you, although we don't really write enough to keep in touch. Tracy and I were friends in Jr. High, but then she moved to Colorado, much to my dismay. We kept up for awhile, lost contact, and found each other again. I'll never forget you, you Elsik Chortle! =) Friends here at Vanderbilt include Melissa, Kris, Jennifer, Thelma, Jim, Houston, Kimbell, my great study buddies Nana, Christy, Petra, Trung, Megan, Jennifer, and John. One of my newest friends (and one of my closest in many ways) would have to be Roger. Thanks for helping me through all my troubles last semester, Rog! I really owe you one.
