| Sammy Sosa put on a show in the first round. He was belting homeruns over 500 feet. One of them even left the field. He smashed 12 homeruns in the first round, and everyone was expecting him to win. But then Jason Giambi belts 11 home runs. That seems like nothing compared to his 14 last year! (G) Hometown boy Ritchie Sexson moved onto the second round, but didn't make it past there, as Sammy Sosa and Jason Giambi moved onto the final. Arod and Bonds both hit a dissapointing 2 homeruns. Oh well, Barry hit's em when it matters. Jason Giambi hit 7 homers in the final, and you could see that Sammy was getting tired. He used up all his energy hitting 500 footers! And he could only manage to hit one home run in the final round, so Jason Giambi went on the be the Home Run king of 2002! Overall it was an awesome show. Sammy Sosa's long moon shots and Jason Giambi's consistency was sure to draw in some fans. This year's Home Run Derby was a complete success! |
