Welcome to Hazzard County
Well, I kinda hopped onto this band wagon a little late, on account a' having been not born when the show started. I think I make up for it in enthusiasm though. Just ask my room-mate.

Well, y'all, listen up, and I'll try not to take much of your time. You see the Dukes was a show that started in 1978 as a mid-season replacement. No one expected it to last. But last it did, going seven seasons before calling it quits. Some say its appeal was in its good, clean humour and family values, but let's face it, people really watched it for the car (at least I do, don't you?). The truth is that the Dukes of Hazzard was a show that had all around appeal - good clean fun for the whole family, but with high speed chases and good looking actors and actresses playing key roles to attract those rebellious teenagers. The Dukes were a family of four, three cousins and their patriarch, Uncle Jesse. They lived on their farm happily, except for the fact that Boss Hogg and his side-kick Roscoe were always trying to force them out of Hazzard. This lead to many a police chase and many a deal with Boss to give them back the farm, or let the Dukes outta jail if only they didn't reveal Boss's scheme to the authorities.

So What Exactly is the 'Dukes of Hazzard' Anyway?
It was a cold day in January, the day I found the Dukes. I had just come back to college after Christmas break and I went down an hour too early to watch another show. Rather than walk up three flights of stairs to go back to my room, I decided to find something else to watch. As I waited to see what else was on I saw that "Ihe Dukes of Hazzard" was on TNN. Curious about this show I'd heard about but never seen, I decided to watch. That decision changed my life. You see, I knew about that orange car. When I was younger, every orange car I saw was the "Dukes of Hazzard car" , although I was never certain whether it was the Dukes of Hazzard or the Duke of Hazzards and Hazzard to me always meant danger. That night my life was completely altered and I know I will never be the same. I even remember which episode it was. It was the one with Waylon Jenning's travelling museum. Well, the next week I went down again. This time it was the second part of the "Carnival of Thrills' and from that point on I was hooked. I watched it every single weeknight and mourned for it on the weekends. Then, disaster struck. TNN changed the time from Weeknights at 7 to weekdays at 3. I was devastated! I had classes at three and went through severe withdrawl. Then I found fanfiction. I was saved! I had my dose of the Dukes and no longer longed quite so much for that big orange car and Roscoe's "Khee khee". Then my room-mate suggested that I write my own. It was the start of a new era. Well, now I'm stuck with the few episodes I've got on tape cause unfortunately we don't got cable and TNN don't got the Dukes. So I'm still writing fanfic and I'm still reading it cause sometimes you just need to have a little Duke in your life.
