What is a video cd? a video cd (vcd) is a compact disc that you can play with a dvd player or your computer.
Windows users: you can find freeware softwares on the internet such as 'Subhash VCDplayer' or 'QuickVCD Player'.
Linux users: you can visit http://www.mpegtv.com/download.html
Mac OS users: (pls note you need to have Apple's MPEG extension and quicktime). you can visit videolan.net (freeware and open source) or Apple's website to get MoviePlay.
Video cds were introduced on the market in 1993 and they are mostly popular in Asia.
The video quality depends on the encoding and can be compared to a videotape.
