Wrap up 1998

Notice the addition to this year’s Front Page: I’ll aim to be there.”

There’s a story behind it.
About a month before this year’s retreat I called Tom Dyer. After numerous mailings. E-mails. A whole bunch of stuff. I finally get through to this guy. 10:30 pm. He doesn’t seem to  know what I’m talking about. Didn’t get the mail. Didn’t get the e-mail. Clueless. “TD you doing anything on the weekend of November 6th?” “Ah. no. I don’t think so.” “You coming?” Pause. The best I can get out of TD is “I’ll aim to be there.” I figure for whatever reason the guy  is blowing  us off. After all, he missed the first two retreats. Saturday afternoon, Lake Clear, I say to anyone who will listen, “That’s it. I’m tired of calling this guy. Somebody else can work on it. He’s out. He’s out of the loop as far as I’m concerned.” 6 pm. Pitch black outisde. Who walks in just after the onions go into the pot, TD. Tom, you  gave a whole new meaning to the phrase, “I’ll aim to be there.”
