The Eagle of American University (2002 - 2004) The awesome web site of my current adventure in journalism. Since my arrival at American University, I have made a point of giving my all for this paper. I started out as Contributing Writer in September 2002. By Fall Break, I was the Assistant Sports Editor, making me a Staff Writer. Over winter break, the Editor In Chief appointed me to the new position of Special Projects Editor, in which I oversaw the production of a Special Edition covering Travel Abroad in March, and the April Fools issue layout. After the transition into the new staff, I took over the news department as Managing Editor for News. With a new staff taking over this March, I stepped up as Interim Editor in Chief while the new Editor was in Prague. Check out my staff page for stories I have written. Below are stories that have been picked up and published in other papers.
The Roar of Penn State Beaver (2000-2002) The Roar was the focus of my sophomore year at Penn State as I served as Editor In Chief and oversaw all facets of production of the paper, which published once a month throughout the course of the school year.
The Bobcat's Echo (1997-2000) Ah, the Echo. This is where my journalism career fully came into being. In addition to writing an average of three stories per issue, I served on the Business staff all three years, leading to my role as Business Manager during Senior year. The news magazine, which came out every six weeks, allowed me to grow my writing ability as well as learn photography, web production, and tone my business sense as each issue sold out under my tenure as Business Manager.
