I joined Boy Scout Troop 406 in 1992 and became an Eagle on September 4, 1998. With a year and a half remaining before my 18th birthday, I was able to continue to advance and earn five Eagle Palms. Through my 8 years, I received 47 merit badges, served in a variety of leadership positions including Senior Patrol Leader, worked for six years at the council summer camp, Heritage Reservation, and was an officer in the Order of the Arrow, Scouting's National Honor Society.

American Studies Department, College of Liberal Arts, Penn State University

For completion of several semesters on the Dean's List, I was awarded by the American Studies Department, College of Liberal Arts, Penn State University Beaver Campus in May 2002.

The Founders Award is given by the national lodge of the Order of the Arrow, Scouting's National Honor Society. Each local lodge recommends several candidates to the national lodge. I was one of three chosen by my local lodge in 2000.

At the close of each summer, the staffs of all three camps gather with the central staff to celebrate the end of the summer and award those who performed above and beyond expectation. The individual camps award their staffs while the Reservation leadership award staff members from all three camps. After serving as an area director and working to help many areas throughout the camp, I was given the award by the Reservation Director.

Starting with my award in 2000, the History Department awarded students with a zest for learning and studying history. The award was established in memory of alumna Chad Webster by his family.
