| The Maquis is a resistance group that was formed in 2370. In the previous years the Federation and Cardassians were in conflict over their shared border. In 2370 however the conflict was resolved and the borders redrawn. |
| When the borders were redrawn several Federation colonies now fell under Cardassian jurisdiction. Because of this the former Federation colonists became furiated and started a vigilante group known as the Maquis. |
| The Maquis are a majorly human group with many Bajoran to help aid, plus other species. |
