Apparently the Washoo Gods have done something to piss off Mother Nature as she disrupted her second tournament of the year.  But WANA members would not be deterred and the first ever outdoor-covered Washoo tournament was born.  Under the protection of a fully covered deck at the Shonk elders abode, the Washoo field was created using sleeping bags and blankets to protect the deck boards from washer wounds.  The roof was only 6 1/2 feet up, so throwers had to adjust their washer trajectories accordingly.  In another first, the tournament became an "independent" as the tournament was competed as individuals instead of as partners.  This created a "King/Queen of Washoos" style of play.  Eight players entered the double-elimination tourney and only 1 player would still be standing at the end.
Bracket rankings were created by Bingo ball lottery and play commenced around 5 pm local time.  The first round saw 2 husband/wife battles with Trevor showing no mercy on Ellen with an 11-1 win and Kevin outlasting Siobhan in an 11-6 victory.  From the battle of Baden file, the MacBeths demonstrated their backyard game prowess as Bob disposed of Jamie 11-4 and Lindsey put away 'no baby yet' Carrie 11-7
The tightest matches of the tournament were found in the losers' bracket as Ellen succumbed to Jamie 11-9 and Carrie advanced passed Siobhan 11-9 in a match that should have ended at 5 points.
After losing to Kevin in the Winners' bracket, Lindsey quickly earned the knickname 'the Pied Piper' as she marched through Jamie 11-6, husband Bob 11-9 in a massive up and down battle, and Kevin 11-9 showing her previous loss to him was merely a fluke.  All 3 gentlemen would feel the wrath of 'the Pied Piper's'  uncanny ability to nonchalantly nail the pipe right when she seemed to be cornered.  Her innocently professed ignorance of her pipes, who shoots first, score of the game, and even whether she won or not made these men think about taking up another gentler sport such as lawn bowling.
In the poorly lit final, Lindsey would meet an undefeated Trevor who had shown his regular consistent play in beating Ellen, Bob and Kevin to earn his final birth.  Bob gave Trevor an early scare in an excellent challenge that ended 11-9.  Trevor had been sitting watching 'the Pied Piper's' game but showed no fear and took an early commanding lead.  Lindsey mounted a comeback with a few pipes but was unable to maintain.  Trevor was victorious 11-6 and became the first-ever individual winner of a Washoo tournament!
