WASHOOS ASSOCIATION OF NORTH AMERICA
Information Links: Washoos: New for 2006
Rule changes being considered for the 2006 season:

1.  Distance between the boxes to be changed to 17 ft. from the current 18 ft.
Rationale: increase scoring averages that seemed to decrease in the 2005 season

2.  In a 4 player match, all players will switch ends when the first team reaches 7 points.  They will then remain at that end until a winner is determined.
Rationale: Washoo players are becoming 1-box throwers for entire tournaments.  True Washoo players should have the ability to throw equally well at both sized boxes.

3.  The winner of the pre-game Rock, Paper, Scissors match may choose EITHER the opponent to throw against OR the side they would like to throw at.
Rationale: RPS skill should be rewarded with best strategic opportunity.  With the introduction of the 'switch ends' rule, the RPS winner could now make important choices that could effect match momentum.

4.  Outdoor carpeting will be installed on the bottom of the pits.
Rationale: it is thought that carpeting will decrease the frequence of 'good' throws that bounce out of the box.
