Braiden Fall Classic
October 2, 2005
Information Links:
A class act tournament hosted by a class act couple.  What a venue.  Gallery seating on freshly cut lawn and upper bowl box seats with accompaning cooler and weiners.  The largest gathering of WANA members of the year lived up to expectations in atmosphere and game play.  With comments of 'how did the bingo roller put those 2 together?' Shonk Open champion Trevor Braiden was partnered up with champion of everything else Tina 'sweet' May.  After moving through their first 2 matches the champs were halted with a semi-final loss to Kevin Shonk and, clutch player who found her game, Lindsey Cave.  Undaunted by the single loss, Trevor and Tina worked their way through the loser bracket in an exciting win (innopportune pipe) over Kevin O'Neill and Erin Chan to again meet Kevin and Lindsey in the final.  Trevor and Tina rose to the challenge by beating Kevin and Lindsey 2 games in a row to solidify the Championship.
The Braiden Fall Classic was thought to be the last tournament of the season.  However, there were rumblings coming from the west about a winter indoor Baden tournament.  If this comes to fruition, it would be the first ever indoor WANA tournament.  Stay tuned for more details.
The Braiden Fall Classic was played with new for 2006 rules.  The new distance of pits of 17 feet seemed to be successful, while there was some discussion around the RPS pre-game outcomes.  This discussion will continue until the end of the year when a decision will be made as to the upcoming 2006 season.
