AN OUTLINE OF
LEARNING DEEP FEELINGS

Key Idea The Sense of the Idea More Reading
learning changes in behavior that come from experience
feeling A body experience, clearly different from thoughts, which is like, but frequently more complex than, the regular senses of seeing, hearing, touching, smelling, tasting, damage, itching, heat, cold, pressure, needing food or water or rest, motion, position, stretching, weight, balance and vibration.
emotion A word equal to the word "feeling". Every emotion is a sign that one part of a person is fighting with some other part of the same person. Overview
deep feelings A special group of all the possible feelings. This group is important for freeing oneself from a noisy mind and a troubled heart. Distinctions between Deep and Surface Feelings
difficult deep feeling A deep feeling which most persons keep away from because it gives them discomfort. Listing of Difficult Deep Feelings
consoling deep feeling A deep feeling which is experienced by most persons without much work. Listing of Consoling Deep Feelings
control Wanting myself, other persons or the world to become a copy of a fixed blueprint in my mind. As a rule, this blueprint is unconscious. About Control
surface feelings Signs which say to me that copies of my blueprint are coming into existence or going out of existence. So surface feelings give me knowledge about how much control I have over myself and everyone and everything around me. Surface Feelings in Action
cloaking The act of keeping conscious attention away from all deep feelings and some surface feelings, especially the surface feeling of anger. Cloaking is hard work. About Cloaking
unhappiness The body-condition caused by cloaking. Is Unhappiness a Feeling?
deep-feeling acknowledgment A physical process which is the opposite of cloaking and which lets a person become happy. In deep-feeling acknowledgment, a person's conscious attention has to go to deep feelings by slipping or falling to them. Deep feelings have a natural tendency to come into a person's conscious attention. Acknowledging Deep Feelings
habituation or desensitization The purpose of acknowledging deep feelings. In addition, habituation or desensitization is named working through deep feelings and is like getting used to them. Behavior Modification
a quiet mind and a heart at peace An outcome of habituation or desensitization to deep feelings. With a quiet mind and a heart at peace, one becomes free from having parts of oneself fighting with one another. Deep Feelings and Health
cloaking ritual An automatic, time-tested system made up of thoughts, surface feelings, acts and a statement. This system keeps deep feelings under cover, away from conscious attention. Source of Cloaking Rituals
cause of a noisy mind and a troubled heart Ongoing use of cloaking rituals past the time that they are necessary (1) for keeping up connections with society or (2) for keeping away from physical damage to the body or (3) for keeping away from death. Value of Cloaking Rituals
healing statement A group of words which makes an attack on the automatic and unquestioned truth-value of the statement that keeps a cloaking ritual working as a unit. Healing statements make a cloaking ritual less strong. So they let out some of the deep feelings being covered up by the cloaking ritual. Examples of Healing Statements
communicator A person who has the power to make a physical connection with other persons by way of deep feelings. Communicators are never able to give up this power so they never become noncommunicators. Communicators and Noncommunicators
noncommunicator A person who has no power to make a physical connection with other persons by way of deep feelings. A noncommunicator (who is over six weeks old) is able to become a communicator by experiencing an event named deep-feeling contact with a communicator. The Differences between Communicators and Noncommunicators
deep-feeling contact A physical operation which makes a noncommunicator into a communicator for the rest of his or her life. (But for young boys and girls and their mother or father, no body-to-body touching takes place in normal deep-feeling contact.) The Essence of Deep-Feeling Contact
deep-feeling communication channel A special way for two or more communicators to make a physical connection with one another without using regular language like words, signs or body-to-body touching. A Special Channel
learner of deep feelings The name for a person who is polishing the physical acts which keep clear and strong his or her connection to the deep-feeling communication channel. That connection gives a learner hope, direction and purpose for living happily and healthily. The Two Physical Acts in Learning Deep Feelings
