The fascinating world of fungi is
a subject close to my heart. Whenever I take a stroll through my local woodland
area, I'm always on the lookout for new and interesting species to identify.
However, it is the photography of these amazing organisms that really excites
me. The aim of this website is to share my experience of mushrooms and fungi
with you. Though my knowledge on the subject is only at an amateur level, I know enough to
get by! Anyway, have a good look through my site, and enjoy.

14.2.03 UPDATE Happy Valentines Day! Just thought i'd mention that the 'Structure of a Mushroom' webpage is now refurbished and available. Though I haven't done much work on the site recently, I'm starting to get back on track, and plan to get those larger fungi photos linked to thumbnails very soon. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates soon, and thanks to those who have recently left comments in the guestbook! 12.11.02 AREAS OF SIMPLYFUNGI UPDATED The 'Fungi Links' page has now been updated with many more links to other great fungi websites, and for faster loading there are no more pictures accompanying those links (had to be done i'm afraid.) Also, the 'Different Species of Fungi' page has been redesigned to fit onto the screen better, so hopefully no more horizontal scrolling on most monitors! 15.10.02 FUNGI PHOTOS FROM JERSEY I have put a temporary Jersey fungi photos website up which should load faster. The difference from the old pages are that the photos are initially thumbnails. Also there are some new additions to the gallery. Unfortunately the thumbnails can't be enlarged for a few weeks, until the full size photos are up. 11.10.02 UPDATE ON WEBSITE WORK Just begun work on the site after a months break from it. You'll now notice that the contents links work on each webpage now, except for 'Structure of a Mushroom' which is down currently. Also to mention, the 'Guestbook' is up again, with a fresh new look. One of my big aims for the site this time round, is to get the 'Discussion Forum' pumping, so I have cleaned it up a little. Wot r u waitin for, get in their!...If your still here (shame on you!), I can tell you that the first 'Focus On...' article is imminent, keep ur eyes peeled. Jersey Fungi Photos ain't quite ready to go online, but soon. Lastly, have you noticed a certain return appearance of 'Freddie the Stickman'? I have! 15.08.02 NEW FEATURE TO BE ADDED SOON A special 'Focus on...' feature is to be added. This will contain articles that I make, on specific areas relating to Mycology. They will usually be in the form of investigations. The first, I can only say, is of a 'smelly' nature......... 15.08.02 NEW SIMPLYFUNGI DESIGN UNVeiLED ;0) Excuse the pun, but this is a major moment for SimplyFungi. I promised a new design layout and here it is, (at last, I know I know!). Most pages have been changed to fit better on computer screens. You'll notice the new contents section always appears on the left, however the links will only work from the news/latest homepage for now (sorry). Also the 'different species' and 'links' sections are linked from the old website as I am still finishing their redesign. The site will be fiddled with over the next few weeks to get it running well, plus the new sections and updated photos are getting added SOON. Feedback very very welcome, a news update to come soon. Bye! 30.04.02 SIMPLYFUNGI HAS A FACELIFT!!! As you can see, its begun! Back in November I mentioned that there would be many changes taking place here at SimplyFungi, and the first one was to be the new look. After much consideration, I decided that the use of frames on this website would help make browsing it much easier. However, after creating the new version, it just didn't look right. So now I have used tables to lay out the website template rather than frames, as it looks more professional and eye-pleasing. Have your view on the new-look in the discussion forums! 22.03.02 CHANGE OF WEB HOST IMMINENT For a while now, SimplyFungi has not been accessible at times. This is due to excessive traffic through the site, mainly as a result of the expanding photos section. As this is unacceptable, the site is moving to a new web host with greater traffic limits and space. However, the site will still be available through the transition period, naturally.
