The expedition couldn't have taken place without the generosity of our sponsors:

Hotel in Oxford
I'll start at the beginning and try to write in chronological order although a lot of memories seem to have become mixed up. We left early on Sunday 27th August and the whole day was spent traveling up to Fort William by minibus. This was a very long journey of about 9 hours but spirits were high as everyone was anticipating an excellent trip. We spent the first two nights in a youth hostel near Fort William. The day after we arrived, after a leisurely wake up, we went to see the sights of Fort William. We also did some last minute shopping for fruit and the like. In the afternoon we went to visit the Assessor of our expedition who had very kindly agreed to let us borrow her husband's and her sea kayaks, as we had no prior experience in paddling sea kayaks. The trial was a success and we took to the sea kayaks as well as could have been hoped. We returned to the youth hostel that evening via the local award winning chip shop, mmmmm. This was our last night in a bed for three nights and we all made the most of it.
