There are two ways to create a web page. First there is Hand Coding, which is manually writing the source code to create a web page. The other is through WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) programs or code generators that provide the code to web masters.

UP is a microcosm of Philippine society. Unlike most academic institutions, UP is a place where students from different backgrounds meet each other. Different beliefs that are out of place outside the university are accepted and respected here. But despite the academic freedom that we practice here, there is still one UP character that is true for each one of us in the university. One word: excellence.

UP NEWS: Early Clash between Political Parties

Election time seemed to have come early this year. Instead of starting room-to-room campaigns in February, parties entered and campaigned in classrooms the minute the classes resumed from the Christmas break. But the campaigns were not about the parties themselves and their candidates but about the referendum on the Codified Rules on the Student Regent Selection (CRSRS).

Site

The title comes from the children's book, The Lorax, written by Dr. Seuss. It tells the story of Once-ler, an industrialist, who meets Lorax, a mossy creature who speaks for the trees. He urges Once-ler to stop destroying the environment.

This site aims to inform the online community about the advances in science and technology in the Philippines and abroad. And just like the story, this website is GREEN on issues regarding the environment.

The icon used was the author's favorite pet fish who resided at the pond at her family's garden. Sadly, the fish did not survive the tirades of Typhoon Auring last January 3, 2009. The author blames climate change.
