HONOUR ROLL |
To some of you it may seem odd that I have listed the Honour Roll as a major decoration, however every semester that I achieved my place on the Honour Roll involved a great amount of labour. Unionville High School was home to the arts, and the extraordinarily bright, nonetheless these two attributes do not necessarily come easily or to everyone. I was a very enthusiastic student when it came to English, or music, but I wasn't as gifted in the areas of Math and Science. Every semester I would have to struggle to prevent these topics from bringing down my overall average. Well, it took a lot of work, a lot of time, and a little sweat, but I managed to maintain a spot on the Honour Roll for much of my high school career. I graduated from OAC with honours, and that is accredited to my years of struggle and my unwillingness to fail. |

MISS TORONTO INTERNATIONAL PAGEANT |
In January of 2003 I came across an opportunity, which turned out to be the largest challenge that I have ever faced. The Miss Toronto International Pageant was my first experience with pageantry, and certainly changed my outlook on what that word meant. In the end I ended up taking home the honours of 1st Runner-up, the Friendship Award, the award for Best Talent, and a special merit for outstanding contribution to the pageant for my assistance with the dress sponsorship. I imagine that every one of the top five finalists would tell you that they had no idea that they would have been chosen, although cliché this statement has never held more truth. Every award that I received that evening meant more to me then anyone could have imagined, and more then I could have conceived, but there were two distinctions that I will always treasure. Throughout the rehearsal process I came to know these illustrious women, and every one of them had one thing in common, my respect. There was not a single woman that walked on that stage that I did not hold in high regard, and for that reason I was awestruck by the judge's decision to place me next to Katia Livshiz, the Miss Toronto International titleholder. My esteem for my fellow delegates also made the Friendship Award much more then just a trophy. The notion that my friends had chosen to recognize our friendship meant that I was not mistaken in my assumption that we had played a part in something very special, and that none of us would soon forget each other. |

RBC TEAM ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
|
For many years Royal Bank of Canada has had the dream of completing a securitization of a pool of mortgages. On May 6th, 2003, this dream was officially realized. As part of project H2O I was an instrumental participant in the successful completion of this initiative. For the team's efforts we were jointly recognized by the Royal Performance board, which is dedicated to the performance acknowledgment of Royal Bank employees. On top of this distinction I was individually nominated for my role in the orchestration of the project. This venture took approximately four months to close, and involved excessive manpower, dedication, and know-how of the ambitious team of fifteen. Referred to by our colleagues as the "Dream Team", we came from a variety of areas within Capital Markets, and brought our own variety of expertise to the table. It was the diverse nature of the group and the overall perseverance that made this troupe special, but it was our individual drive and tenacity that made the project spectacular. |
