The "big move" actually took place the weekend of March 23rd and 24th, 2002, but we did plenty of work on the house before that happened.  We worked for days on things like plumbing and heating repairs, cleaning and painting - and there's still a long way to go!  With spring now rolling around, we're excited to see what sort of plants and shrubs we have in the backyard, and how the landscaping in the front is shaping up.  Overall, we couldn't be more thrilled with the house - both inside and out!

A view from the front

Another shot to complete the
full front of the house

Standing in front of our house,
this is what you see on the left

From the back of the house, you see
a small stream and Route 309 beyond

This is a view of the foyer, taken
from atop the steps

A view of the kitchen - there's a
cubbyhole to the left of the stove
which allows you to look straight
up into the foyer

A view from the kitchen shows the dining
area and three exits - one straight ahead leads to the driveway, one up the steps and
to the right that goes to the garage, and
one to the left that leads to the back patio

A view of the garage - still loaded
with boxes and furniture!

We touched up the cabinets with a bit
of white trim to set them off

A close-up of our baker's cart
which sits by the kitchen table

The secretary desk, newly stained
green, sits near the hallway which leads
to the steps up into the foyer, and back
to the family room

As you walk down the hallway
toward the family room, you'll
pass the laundry/half-bath

The family room has another door leading
to the back patio, and a fireplace which is
just to the right, slightly out of view

If you walk out the family room door
and turn left, you'll see the private deck
off of the master bedroom

More of the family room - there's
plenty of room behind the couch for a
play area and the treadmill

The area behind the couch is also
big enough for our desk and some
filing cabinets

A view of the backyard "under
construction" - our contractor is
finishing up the new septic

Some of the construction equipment
sits in the side yard . . . for now!

The kids' bathroom upstairs lies right at
the top of the foyer steps - the tile work
on the floor is especially intricate

The walls in this bathroom definitely
needed some help!

Wallpaper added the perfect touch
and hid the wall's imperfections

The hallway upstairs with a fresh coat
of salmon-colored paint - this view was
taken at the top of the steps looking
right - into the master bedroom

The master bathroom needs some help,
too - starting with painting over the
"blood-red" walls!
