Good "country" songs are often inspired by broken hearts that compel one to either cry in their beer, or bite the bullet and move on, and ex-lovers often leave one us one good thing - song inspiration. With a story line many can relate too, and a chorus that utilizes a recognizable cliché, I think I have created a song that has the ingredients to become a popular country hit. (view lyrics) |

Admittedly "wordy", I think this song still maintains its potential for success as it conveys an emotional story based on a simple encounter. I think my melody is strong, with equally good lyrical hooks that weave an interesting story of emotions based on past-present-future as it builds to a bridge surprise, and end with an emotional plea. Although I created my rough draft in a "pop" genre, a mix change could easily convert it to a "country" genre as well.
