of July 2004, there are 248 political detainees all over the country.
Like
its predecessors, the Arroyo regime committed these violations in its
attempts to defeat the CPP-NPA-NDF and MILF, as part of its efforts to
defend and promote the interests of foreign monopoly capitalists, the
comprador bourgeoisie, and big landlords, and while trying to suppress the
mounting opposition to its rule and the ever growing legal democratic
movement.
