One of the original twenty-four of the Walk-for-Peace event, Nona is a pride to her school, which acknowledges her past performance as one of its stalwart student leaders. Rough, bluff and outspoken, this lady has a will as hard as steel and a heart as brave as a lioness. She is a fighter of human rights and women's rights and a guardian of gender sensitivity. During the organization's younger days, she had served as part of the "one-two punch" tandem which had hopped from one radio station to another in calling on all the people of the city to walk the streets with them in a show of united nonviolent defiance against terrorism and all forms of violence.
