Shakespeare eat your heart out!

Did you know…?

Shakespeare invented the words: "assassination" and "bump".

"Screeched" is the longest one-syllable word in the English language.

"Stewardesses" is the longest word typed with only the left hand.

The sentence: "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" uses every letter in the English language.

"Typewriter" is the longest word that can be made using the letters on only one row of the keyboard.

"I am" is the shortest complete sentence in the English language.

Shakespeare's Alley!

William Shakespeare and yours truly share something remarkably in common. Not only are we brilliant writers of our time (Ok, I retract that statement!), but we also share the same birthday!

Here's something even freakier: William Shakespeare also died on his birthday! I've heard that the chances of "carking it" is greatest on your birthday, but on MY birthday???

NB: For those interested on the actual date, it's April 23. So please, feel free to send substantial gifts or donations to help ease my anxiety on my birthday!

Anyway, if you're still reading this, you're in for a treat! The following articles are the culmination of my twelve years of formal schooling in the English language. (Not much then you say… Well, you're probably right!) Happy reading!

I Scream For Ice Cream!

This personal piece was written to express my love for ice-cream that I have held since childhood. Written in a reflective manner, my audience is not only fellow ice-cream lovers, but also people who shared a passion for a particular food during their childhood, and who still do today.

All Huffed And Puffed Out

This piece was written as a review/profile of a fictional actor in his upcoming film. Written in a journalistic manner, the style of the piece is similar to articles that appear in newspaper entertainment supplements, such as EG in The Age. My intended audience is film enthusiasts and people interested with the life of a celebrity.

BONUS:

The Naked Gun

This short play was written with a few schoolmates in 1994. Based on "The Naked Gun" film series, the play is rife with slap-stick comedy and toilet humour.
