All Huffed And Puffed Out

"I’ll huff, and I’ll puff, and I’ll blow your house down."

– Antonio Le Candeloro in "Three Little Pigs"

Well, the Antonio Le Candeloro bandwagon continues to roll on. According to the latest entertainment poll, Le Candeloro has been voted as the most talented actor in Hollywood. At only 20, Le Candeloro is a rising star in the glamourous Hollywood industry. Following the increasing popularity of the nursery rhyme genre, Le Candeloro is gathering a cult following for his brilliant portrayals of the film character, "the big bad wolf". Constantly mobbed by adoring fans, the heart throb has received numerous marriage proposals from lovestruck female fans. Starring in the Big Bad Wolf Trilogy box office smashes, The Boy Who Cried Wolf, Three Little Pigs and soon to be released, Little Red Riding Hood, Le Candeloro has been critically acclaimed for his roles, receiving two Academy Awards for his superb performances.

On location in the lush forests of Sherwood, for the latest in the Big Bad Wolf Trilogy, Le Candeloro appears exhausted and scruffy. Estimated to have cost a staggering $100 million to produce, Little Red Riding Hood has been touted as the greatest suspense thriller ever. With the first two films in the Big Bad Wolf Trilogy grossing over $2.3 billion in box office sales, Le Candeloro is genuinely surprised at the popularity of the films. "It has certainly exceeded my own expectations, so I am extremely humbled at being the main character in both the films."

Between breaks in filming, Le Candeloro reveals a shy, reserved personality. However, behind the cameras donning the wolf costume, Le Candeloro relishes the role of 'the big bad wolf'. "It gives me the opportunity to explore a personality I normally would never exhibit." With the villain in nursery rhymes being always the wolf, Le Candeloro ponders the attraction of the character. "I suppose it’s the vulgar appearance of the wolf; you know, its wild, untamed vicious traits make it more appealing and convincing for viewers." Draped in traditional grandmother clothes for a scene in the film, Le Candeloro doesn’t appear to be the vicious wolf he intends to portray. Le Candeloro manages a smile, "Yes, it does look odd, doesn’t it … a wolf in drag?"

In Little Red Riding Hood, Le Candeloro plays the psychotic stalker, preying on the next vulnerable nursery rhyme heroine on her way to grandmother’s house. Pretending to be her grandmother, the wolf then unleashes terror in the eyes of Red Riding Hood. "That’s where the fun begins," Le Candeloro chirps. Starring alongside Le Candeloro, is Sophie Dechaume, who plays the sweet Red Riding Hood. Dechaume plays down the role that all young females are envious of. "Funny, I don’t look Le Candeloro in that fashion. What I admire about him is his acting qualities, his characterisation of the wolf is just so convincing. To me, that’s a pleasure and privilege to watch his craft at work."

Surprisingly, Le Candeloro attributes his remarkable acting qualities to his early days in Australia, landing a role in Neighbours, Australia’s longest running soap drama. "I was fortunate to land a gig in Neighbours. We were a closely knit bunch, like a second family of mine." A school student then, before Hollywood scouts discovered this fresh talent, Le Candeloro’s meteoric rise to fame has been a fairytale in itself. However, Le Candeloro is still adjusting to his idol status. "Sure, I’d love to have my privacy back, but you’ve got to accept being in the media spotlight." Le Candeloro remains wary of the glitz and glamour of being a Hollywood star, keeping his feet firmly planted on the ground. "Fame and fortune can be gained and lost overnight. I'll enjoy every moment that I can, but I'm sure I won’t be disappointed when it's all over."

Having just recently launched his biography at the age of 20, Le Candeloro writes candidly on his rise to fame. Indeed, his private life has been the subject of tabloid rumours, which have been completely dispelled by Le Candeloro. "No, I did not have a drug addiction, nor a criminal record." But sorry girls, the rumour of a brunette in his life is true. Le Candeloro remains tight-lipped regarding the woman in his life, revealing only that she will accompany him to the New York premiere of Little Red Riding Hood. Speculation also remains on the reported lazy sum of $20 million he will pocket for the role of the "big bad wolf" in the upcoming film. Come on Antonio, tell us! "Not by the hairs of my chinny, chin, chin," laughs Le Candeloro. "Acting’s my life, the money’s not that important … but it sure keeps me motivated!"

Little Red Riding Hood is due to be released in cinemas later in the year.
