James new album:

If James release a new album, it is likely that it will be recorded in a studio, and that several instruments will be played, mainly by band members. It would be reasonable to expect that Mark Hunter will have a major input on the keyboard contribution but his vocal input to the finished product could be minimal. At this time we have no information currently pertaining to track listing, or any reason to assume that David Hockney or Damien Hirst will be providing the cover illustrations.

James drummer leaves:

At this moment in time One Fan Clapping are currently unable to confirm or deny rumours that James drummer, David Baynton-Power, may have left his house in the last week.  While no reliable sources can vouch for the activities of Baynton-Power, it is reasonable to assume that he has had to leave home, perhaps to buy groceries, go to the dentist, or even to the studio to help with work on James’ next album.

James wins award:

James Pude, 8, son of John and Su, has won an award for winning the league at Under 8's Maidstone Primary football league level for season 1999-2000.

Booth lends approval to book:

Tim Booth, lead singer of indie band James, and occasional stage performer, has stated in interviews that he is a fan of the book Finnegan’s Wake by Irish-born iconoclast James Joyce.  Rumour has it that he has even quoted Joyce’s work in James songs.  Finnegan's Wake is currently available for purchase at most bookstores around the UK and Ireland at a reasonable price.  One Fan Clapping can also neither confirm nor deny that Joyce’s book has no bearing on the forthcoming James biography, although it is likely that Booth has also read this book as well, and may even have liked it.  In fact, it is possible that Booth will purchase several copies of the James biography, written by Stuart Maconie, in order to give as gifts to his family and friends.  When this biography is released it is likely to cost fans something between £1 and £50 and should be available for purchase in most bookstores around the UK.

Kulas Visa problems: "no preferential treatment":

Michael Kulas, Canadian national and James backing vocalist has to apply periodically for a work permit in the EU. Because of this, if he wishes to obtain a UK credit card, e.g. Mastercard, Visa, or Access, he would need a UK residence of at least 3 years to obtain one . If he were to overcome this problem by Saul vouching for him, he would receive no preferential treatment when it comes to interest and payment terms.  One source at a credit reference agency is quoted as saying "To be honest, we don`t look at positions in Top indie-pop combos . This would not sway the approval system. The main criteria after residency is typical annual earnings and security ratings from foreign credit agencies."

Seven: best album of all time?

It is the kind of debate that may rage on in pubs all over the country . Is Seven the greatest album of all time? At the end of the last millennium it seemed all radio shows and magazines had "Greatest..... of the last millennium" . BBC GLR, now renamed BBC London Live, did just this, but Seven was not named "Best Album of all time" . It is not known if any other James albums were in the top 50 albums of all times, which probably featured albums by The Beatles and Elvis and maybe even The Rolling Stones.

Special thanks goes to our man on the street John Pude for helping compile these breaking news stories.
