| About myself | |||||||||||||||
|
I was born in Singapore in the year 1978 . My family consists of my parent, a younger sister and me. My hobbies are sports, gym, roller blading and watching movies. After I graduated from Temasek Polytechnic, I was enlisted into the Singapore Armed Forces - the commando unit. The training was mentally and physically tough at the beginning but we told ourselves never will we give up. We all knew that we have to go through them because we want to protect our land and our loved ones, and Singapore is worth fighting for... Our Company Sergeant-Major kept telling us, ' Tough time don't last, (but) tough men do', and we strongly believe so. Everytime when the situation is against us, we will remember what he had said, and we would then carry on, pushing ourself to our limits. Two and a half years of national service is not a waste of time, I have spent my best time and years of my life in there...... After I finished my national service, I was at the cross-road of choosing whether to join the work force or to continue further my study. With the support of my parent, I have chosen to further my study in Australia. I have benefited a lot during my stay in Australia. First, I learned to be independent. Been away from my parent mean I have to depend on friends and myself. Secondly, having living in a new country, I have learned to adapt quickly into another culture and lifestyle totally different from my country. The way to talk, the way to present, and the way to live like those Australians, are totally new to me. Thirdly, during my stay in Australia, I have discovered myself, I know where my strengths lie and what my weaknesses are. With that knowledge in mind, I can always improve and push myself even harder. Given the opportunity, I would like to work overseas.
