About this training program

This training program, known as Infocomm Training and Attachment (iTA) Scheme, is a joint scheme between Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and BioInformatics Institute (BII) with the aim of building up a critical pool of highly trained manpower for the BioPolis (BioMedical Hub) within the framework of the BioMedical Grid (BMG) project. This scheme will nurture talent to meet the industry's growing demand in these critical areas.

We, as the trainees, will have the opportunity to be attached to selected organizations and be trained in the infocomm area of hot and emerging infocomm technologies such as Grid Computing, Intelligent Web Services, Infocomm Security and Java.

During this one year, we will be involved in hands-on projects covering networking, telecommunications, applications development, cluster computing, massive data storage and management, HPC (High Performance Computing), porting and tuning code on various platforms and Computer & Internet Security etc. The focus will be to expose and prepare us to work with, and contribute to, advancing Grid computing technologies.
