Our dogs are first and foremost members of our family. They share our lives and our home. We show them because we are proud of them and we wish to share this beautiful breed with as many people as possible.
Our goal, when breeding, is to produce healthy, happy and sociable puppies. In selecting our breeding pair, we have relied heavily upon experienced breeders and veteran show and obedience people such as Gail Morris and Kaz Paszko at Vikela Registered Kennels.
Even before puppies arrive, we carefully screen owners so that we are prepared, when the puppies arrive and reach an appropriate age, to match owners with specific puppies. All puppy owners are encouraged to stay in touch and, when owners are going out of town, we love to have puppies come for sleepovers. We have been fortunate to find excellent owners and excellent homes for our puppies and made some really good friends.
We stipulate that if, for any reason, the owners can�t keep the puppy, it is returned to us.
Our puppies are guaranteed and sold with non-breeding agreements which are filed with the Canadian Kennel Club. Under certain circumstances the non-breeding agreement may be changed to a breeding contract. This is usually after the dog has achieved its Canadian or American conformation championship or shown sufficient progress in obedience, has passed certain health requirements and is deemed suitable for breeding purposes by Jumbamkasi Rhodesian Ridgebacks.
We strongly suggest that the new puppy and owner attend obedience classes, not necessarily with a view to competing but because a well behaved puppy is obviously easier to handle and much more enjoyable for its owners.
