At two weeks old eyes opened and they began to take an interest in real food. |

| On February 04, 2002, Ch.Vikela�s Hintza Mpenzi and Ch. Vikela�s Nandi Jamani became parents of 12 beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback puppies. |

| The first puppy arrived at 7:00 am, the twelfth around noon. Nandi proved to be a caring mother who seemed to know exactly what to do and when to do it. The 12 littermates spent the first part of their lives eating and sleeping. |

Ridges were visible from birth and at less than a week old, they had begun to develop their markings. |

Most of the puppies went to live in their new homes when they were 8 weeks old. It was a happy/sad kind of time. We were sad that the babies were leaving us but we were happy that we had met such neat people, made some wonderful new friends and the puppies were going to such great homes. We held on to two of them, Siya and Kru until their new house was ready to move into. And, of course, we kept our two, Indy and Mwafu. The final two week period was a blur, tattoos, shots and visits from our puppy people. |
