Tourist Attractions
Puerto Galera: Located in the island of Mindoro Oriental- the next big island to the south of Manila. It has a most beautiful natural harbour, and the view from the deck of the ferry as you come through the Batangas Channel or the Manila Channel is a delight. The fine beaches and excellent diving at Puerto Galera have been attracting travellers for some time. In almost every bay with usable  beaches you'll find cottages for local and foregin tourists. In the hinterland are some interesting alternative to beach living.  There is a Mangyan Village &The Tamaraw Waterfalls
BUS: Several BLTB buses leave from Pasay City bus terminal daily for  Batangas. (Bus fare from P75.00; 3 hours drive.) An air-conditioned bus leaves the Centerpoint Hotel in Ermita everyday at around 9am, where you can also get a combined bus and boat tickets to Puerto Galera (from P300.00) at the Si-Kat Ferry Office in the hotel ( Tel. Accommodation (Location)
MONEY: the Rural Bank in Puerto Galera changes cash and may also change Travellers cheques although less favorable rate than bank in Manila.
COMMUNICATIONS: The small post office is diagonally opposite the church on H. Axalan Street. There is also telephone for international calls at the Pier. Most of the Resorts also have cellular telephone links.
White Beach Nipa Hut & Beach Resort (GF)                   Tel/Fax: 0912-270-7371
Fairly large establishement with Bar and restaurant, pay phone service, shopping center, airconditioned rooms/cottages  with TV . There's also lots of little cottages with fan and bath. Some have cooking facilities. (JBernardo stayed in this place for 1 week).

(Late afternoon is quite cruisy).
-
Eye contact at any Bars/Restaurants are also quite good while having some bottles of beer late afternoon. ( At least by dinner time you could possibly have a date). Learn some Pinoy language.
Most restaurants that offer International dishes are located near the Pier/Town's meeting place. at Muelle Bay.
Mangyan Village: located in the hinterland this alternative activities barely 1km behind White Beach. Near Dulangan, about 6 KM towards Calapan, villagers pan for gold in the river.? and nearby Tamaraw Waterfalls at about 15kms.
The Famous Puerto Galera Beaches: ( affordable Boracay I should say)..
In almost every Bay with a beach that is usable, you'll find cottages for local and foregin tourists.  To the East: resorts have sprung up at Sabang Beach, Small La Laguna and Big La Laguna Beach. To the South: the Tabinay Beach. To the West: White Beach and Talipanan Beach has almost reach its limit. ( check out Beaches description on the left  side for details>)
Pto. Galera Beaches:
Sabang Beaches:
A "Happening place" for the visitor, especially after dark and it might not be everybody's scene if you want to relax and unwind.
@ Look out point: the 14m high Lighthouse where you can get gorgeous view of sunrise and sunset.

Small La Laguna Beach:
a nearby beach although maybe a bit more relaxed the beach itself is not particularly impressive.
@ Popular for Diving and snorkelling.

Big La Laguna Beach:
Here there's a lot of activity. Some of the cottages are packed close together, but the Coral Reef is worth seeing and is good for snorkelling.

White Beaches:
The popular and busiest among the beaches between San Isidro and Talipanan Point. adjoining beaches like Aninuan and Talipanan are extremely quiet. However all of them are good bathing beaches although snorkelling is not particularly interesting.

Ballete Beach, Long Beach Halige Beach:
Good foir snorkelling but can be dangerous for swimmers.
