TIPS TO DRIVE IN BOGOTA
Bogota is big city with several important ways connecting all points. If you have never been in Bogota, some advices about important streets will be helpful for enjoy your visit here. Some tips help to spend less time in the ways and others help to keep your safe. Finally, some advices are given to sightseeing in special seasons using your car.
· If you need to go quickly between north and south places, you can use the 30th, 68th or Boyaca Avenue. You'd better not use the 10th or Caracas Avenue. Usually, these streets have traffic congestion all time. In west and east case , you can take the 6th or 26th avenue.
· Please, don't drive fast when you use the 26th avenue. Many polices use radars for detect high-speed drivers. You can lose your car if you drive more to 60 Km/h.
· If you go to downtown, you should be careful with your car. You'd better use authorized places to park. You can't use the street like parking. Some people can rob your stereo or your bags or other vehicle can crash your car.
· If you come to Bogota in Christmas time, you ought to go in your car to "Plaza de Bolivar", 15th avenue or "Ciudad Montes" to sightseeing the best illumination in the city.

CULTURAL CENTER OF BOGOTÁ
The Candelaría, located in the Eastern sector of the Historical Center , conserves the memory of the small town that was the beginning of the great metropolis. At the present time museums with a rich artistic and cultural legacy are concentrated in this sector. Also temples of interest like the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Carmen and the church of San Ignacio; cultural scenes like the Theater Columbus and the Dressing room of the Carmen; groups of theater like the Candelaría, Free Theater and Theater Factory of Colombia. The cultural life is intense: their streets, seats and small squares are the space in which artistic expressions are developed to manifold and of the popular tradition.
National Museum
The National Museum is the oldest of the country and one of oldest of the continent, it was constituted in 1823. Its architecture of strength is built with stone and brick. The plant includes the arcs, vaults and columns in a form that is resembled one cross Greek on which the 104 cells are layout , its facade solidly walled. It is that first it was building like jail in 1874, and was Panóptico call (it worked only until 1946), to replace the different localities that were used with this aim in Bogotá, for that reason it was constituted in I build of greater construction of the city, in the second decade of century XIX. In 1948 it was adapted like recovered National Museum and in 1975. His more recent intervention meant an important modernization of rooms and services of support, this put it to the vanguard of the Colombian cultural activity.
Museum of regional costumes of Colombia
The museum, created in 1972 was the house that occupied Manuelita Sáenz, the companion of Simon Bolivar. The museum works for the conservation and spreading of the typical suits and native weaves of the different regions and ethnic groups from the nation.
It has a complete collection of Colombian textiles, from his origins, in the pre-Columbian cultures to the present time. Artisan estampaderas, looms, fabrics, embroiders, hats and accessories are exhibited. The pre-Columbian cultures and the present Native American community are of special interest. It also exhibits artisan works related to the popular dress.

MOBILITY IN BOGOTÁ
Bogotá is a big city, cosmopolitan and funny with a big infrastructure of stress and avenues. In this city you can take public transportation, Transmilenio (a massive system of transport), bicycles and private cars. If it's your first time driving in Bogotá, pay attention to this information:
“Pico y Placa”: This norm prohibits some cars to move in the morning from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. and in the afternoon from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m., this depends on the last number of the cars´ ID. This norm doesn't operate on weekends.
“ Contraflujo”: from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. the 7 th Avenue's north to south way change its direction. This is very important because you should have precaution when you drive or you go across the street.
“ Día sin Carro”: This initiative take place each year and is an activity to reduce the contamination levels of the city. This day the people can't use the car. Some people take a bus or Transmilenio, and others prefer the bicycle. The entire city transforms it in a carnival.

Bogotá is the capital of Colombia and it has a privileged place in the country, it is located to 2640 meters of altitude. It is located in an extensive high plateau; it is turned by territories fertiles that have villages hospitable where are made industrial activities, farming and handicraft.
There are many reasons about the tourist will visit our city again between them are: the diversity of malls, the quality and variety of restaurants, naturals attractive, the kindness of the people and the quality and variety about the cultural offer.
The most gratefuls tourist attributive in the city by the Bogotá's people, and the places that we recommend to visit to a person who don't life in this city were identify how: the center, La Candelaria, Monserrate, Malls, Museums and the 93's park next to the zone T. BOGOTÁ AWAKEN
BOGOTÁ AWAKEN is an initiative leaded by FENALCO Bogotá-Cundinamarca, with help of the Distrital Administration, the police metropolitan and the organized trade of the city. It is a journey looking forward to selling some days. For example, before a special day like father's day, mother's day, love and friendship, Christmas etc. So, these days give the customers more time to do their shopping and the economy get better.
Bogotá awaken is a good option because the establishments have a more appropriate schedule, extended time and its principal objective is to incentive the commercial activity and it produce a very important cause like is the big economy, it is said: the economy is better, the commercial activity up whit optimum result.
Also, Bogotá is the first city doing it and other cities are retorting it with very good results. Every time these days are more impacting because they link news sectors giving the chance to everyone to enjoy the cultural activities and with this situation the city gains recognition about the qualities of a very big metropolis.
It is a fantastic opportunity, don't waste it!!!, you will like to go out and enjoy all the things that you can do like go shopping, see a movie or go to the malls and look many things or maybe walk by the 7 th avenue. Let's go! Try it and do it more times. Find something new every time you go out!
