Most of the koreans think it's no wonder that we had an independent history, of course Goguryo was a very proud part of Korean history.
We are very proud that we had one of the most powerful countries in Northeast Asia.
Goguryo fought against China's ancient country - Su and Tang, and kept korean penninsula independent from China.
And Koreans believe that people from other countries will think so becuase it is a FACT.
But Chinese don't think so! I am majoring in chinese liturature in University. So I have a lot of opportunity to meet chinese.
Through that experience I realized that chinese people don't think Korea had an independent history, they just consider Korean history and culture as one of their sub-cultures.
And they need to do it. Because china is consisted of many ethnic groups. They want to make an independent country by themselve, 'cause they have different cultures, histories, religions from China's major ethnic group.
So Han chinese are distorting other ethnic group's histories, insisting that they had common thing from ancient time. Chosun group is one of them which is a Korean ethnic group.
Unlike other ethnic groups Chosun group has it's ancient counry which is Korea, they need to distort korean history, and make all chinese belive Korea as one of their sub-culture.
There is another ethnic group which has it's own country outside of China. It is Mongol. I learned that their are Outside-Mogol which is a independent county outside of china, and Inside-Mongol which means an area that Mogol people live in china.
It's a very common expression and I've never thougt it was weird. But in fact it's wrong. Outside-Mongol means it's out side of china and it's less important than Inside-Mogol, the area in china is the core of Mogol people. But it a indepent country itself!
So I really think this should be changed. Outside-Mogol should be call inside mogol and Inside-Mogol should be Outside-Mogol.
After I found that chinese made that term and spread it to other countries.
So I thought if we let China keep distoring our history, same thing could happen. Now many people think china is distoring Korea's history and it's false.
But in the future this could be a fact for world wide people. So we should try hard to keep our history.
It was very hard to do this 'cause it's my first time to make a homepage, and my english's not good engough to organize everything perfectly.
But I am happy that I did something to keep our history.
