What is happening now between Korea and China?

In February 2002, china tried to list Goruryo's relic's to UNESCO. While seeeking UNESCO listing for Koguryo relics found within its territory, China launched the Northeast Asia Project. The research project sought to rewrite the position of the ancient kingdom, presenting it as a Chinese provincial government rather than a sovereign nation. The South Korean government loudly protested recent moves by China to assimilate the history of Koguryo.
China seems to be impatient to match its growing economic and political power with credit by manipulating historical material, however absurd or short of facts.
