Apes Rumors

9/29/04 Rumor is that we will post new rumors on this site in the next week or so....

6/9/04 - 'i'd bet my pace on it' (inside whistleblower BET365.com)
A recent dip in form, prior to Sunday's 2-0 win over the Suda's, for Christopher 'weasel' Warwick, has again been linked to his recent activity with the underworld.
Warwick has repeatidly denied claims that his gambling has spiralled out of control, however team boss, Wil Block, has confirmed he is worried at the amount Warwick is spending... which is reported to be around $15-$20 per week!!!!!! (his known bets are reported to be on college, and pro basketball, pro baseball, and pre school wrestling).

6/6/04  The Liverpool Echo   "Block comes to Port-O"

It has been reported that Player/Manager of the Apes, Will Block, has been spotted at an airport ticket counter, purchasing a one way ticket to Portugal.  Noted football minds have put 2 and 5 together to figure that Block is one of the leading candidates for the now vacant, Euro Champion, Porto job.  It is rumored that he is slugging it out in a two man race with ex-Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier for the top spot.  The one factor that may make Block the favorite is the expressed desire of Midfield Wide General John Walker to follow his beloved leader to his next destination.  It is thought that the addition of walker could lead porto to next years african nations cup championship for the first time in Porto's history (as a european team).

6/6/04  Sky Sports News  "I only scout by the Stadium of Light"

In a classic misdirection move, Manager Will Block famously declared that he was off to the Stadium of Light this upcoming week to scout for new recruits for the Apes to sign during the July transfer window.  Noting Block's English heritage, numerous reporters showed up in the Wearside area for his impeding arrival.  Given that there was a Sunderland reserve high school league practice fitness session for the shirt league team, it was thought that Block had potential recruits in mind.  Needless to say that Block once again fooled the infamous papparazzi to the punch and had already scouted his chosen players.  Look for an impending signing soon on the signings page.
