Captain's Notes

These are desperate times for the Apes.  After a disappointing spell to start the league, the Apes currently stand at 3-3.  There have been some disappointing performances, but a European spot is still up for grabs.  This week we entertain Addison Tech at Rocket Stadium.  Yes, this is the team who grace our pitch with cases of lager after their matches.  One knows that proper footballers can't partake in such shenanigans if they expect to be in tip top shape.  Being that it is an early game and the likes of Chad, Burke and Wil are likely to be extremely hungover, we will have to dictate the tempo of the match to come out with the victory that gets our season back on track....

I would just like to say a warm goodbye to the Sudamericanansnsnsns.  After another match in which their obvious flaws were exposed by both the boy wonder and the lazer, their emotions got the best of them, AGAIN.  The game was rightly terminated after a horrific intentional foul on the lazer as he put away the 2nd and game clinching goal.    It was not an unjust end to the game as the sudas have acted like a bunch of petulant donkeys since their first games against the apes.

After numerous kicks to ankles myself, I feel it is safe to say that they don't play the type of spirited football that the rest of the league tries to play.  Too many petty antics and unnecessary off the ball shenanigans when you play a match against them.  Alas, the Apes once again have risen above provocation to get the necessary result and relaunch their bid to reclaim their lost title of last season.  More to follow in the coming weeks......
