Wanna know the state of mind i'm in right now? I just told an individual game of Tetris to go to hell & die. I've lost the edge... it's up there somewhere.

Anyway, i was going to throw out a playlist, cos it's been a while. Instead, though, here's a mix i just burned:

1) Queen Bitch - David Bowie
2) Starman - Seu Jorge
3) On Your Way Down - Little Feet
4) Why Blues - Chris Thomas King
5) Where Is My Mind? - Pixies
6) The World At Large - Modest Mouse
7) 30 Century Man - Scott Walker
8) Float On - Modest Mouse
9) Mr. Brightside - The Killers
10) You To Thank - Ben Folds
11) Congratulations - Traveling Wilburys
12) Rebel Rebel - Seu Jorge
13) New Slang - The Shins
14) Missing The War - Ben Folds Five
15) Rainy Night In Georgia - Otis Rush
16) Hoist That Rag - Tom Waits
17) Rock & Roll Suicide - Seu Jorge
18) Fat Man In The Bathtub - Little Feet
19) The Good Times Are Killing Me - Modest Mouse
20) Life On Mars? - Seu Jorge
21) Here Comes A Regular - The Replacements

And to answer those of you who noticed - yes. I recently finally saw The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou and had to go out & buy the soundtrack. Another great Wes Anderson film with a kick-ass soundtrack. Thanks, Wes!

So, yeah... uh, yeah. In my fucking face.
Basically everything i said would happen didn't. The Spurs won, Billups disappeared, Larry Brown didn't, in fact, douche & Tim-ay was pretty solid (although, i think Robert Horry should have won the MVP). Even the score i threw out there was way off. And on top of all that, i didn't even fall asleep. Who knows, though... maybe The D will burn.
Congratulations to the Spurs, cos they earned it. Fucking Spurs. Fucking Ginobili. Fucking Horry. Fucking Gilbey's gin. Oh well, at least we had three good games to wrap up the series.

It's time. After 3 years, the NBA Playoffs are finally coming to an end... & i am still sticking to my prediction from Day One - whoever wins Game 7 will win it all.
Yes, i still think the 'Stons will win it all, Chauncey Billups will win his second straight Finals MVP, Larry Brown will douche, Timmy Duncan will cement his growing reputation as King Softie & Detroit will burn. Plus, i'm giving 7-to-1 odds that i WILL fall asleep before the game ends. Fuck you, 9:00 start time.
Anyway, Piston - 96, Spurs - 89.

I have some notes... er, some such, on the wedding of my Good Friend, Peter N. Bringman... but, for legal reasons, i cannot share them at this time... just hold off a few days.

Had to get on & let everyone know that i picked the Belmont winner. My Trifecta, however, did not work out as well as i had hoped. In fact, I think Chekhov & Reverberate got tied up in some All Anal Action at the starting gate. Bastard cats.

While on "sports", i wanted to get on a few days ago to let everyone know that i still had faith in the Pistons & that i was still sticking to my prediction that the 'Stons would win in 7. Of course, after 2 REAL bad ass whippings, that isn't too much of a stretch, but if Detroit had lost Game 3, the Spurs would already be champions of the "world". Yes, i've rediscovered "these".

And, of course, there is the Wacko Jacko verdict. Ha-lay-fucking-loo-yah! Thank Fuck that sleeping with 12 year old boys is now officially okay. What a wonderful legal system we have in this country... one that let's you get away with whatever the fuck you want as long as you've got the money to pay the legal fees. O.J., Jayson Williams, Robert Blake... & now Mr. Jackson. Phil Spector, you have nothing to worry about.

Here i am, in Dublin, Ohio... using a computer at the hotel. And why am i in Dublin? For Peter B's wedding, of course. You have to love the cyclical nature of life.
"This song is so long, it ends up where it begins."

Anyway, luckily they have internet access here, cos i forgot to post my Belmont picks. My #1 has still not changed. Afleet Alex should have won the Triple Crown. And probably would have if his jockey wasn't such a pussy. Selah.

1. Afleet Alex
2. Chekhov
3. Reverberate

So, Mark Felt was Deep Throat. Damnit! It looks like i owe B. Early $10. Personally, i was pulling for Al Haig, but i should have known better than to think that crooked fuck could keep a secret this long. Too bad the good Doctor couldn't have stuck it out a few more months... i would have loved to read his thoughts on this.

1. Afleet Alex
2. Sun King
3. Scrappy T

Afleet Alex already let me down once, let's see if he can do it again.

Yesterday, while at work, i saw a chicken crossing the road. I wasn't in the mood, so i didn't ask it why... although i heard recently on the radio that he could possibly get a ticket for that. This past weekend saw me pushing the Impending Doom aside for a day and a half to crank It up for my good friend Peter B's bachelor party down in C-bus. I then met Gregor at BW3's for the Piston's game on Sunday, met his significant other, & discussed our impending 10 year class reunion. Has it been nine years... ten? I guess.

"Writers write..."
...& i just sit around, in a bad mood, staring at a notepad that i swear is growing by the hour... fuck you Horace. Bogs is dead, long live Bogs.

Cinco de Mayo, biatches. That's right, it's the fifth of mayonnaise... deal with it.

Don't really care about anything else, but wanted to chime in with my Kentucky Derby predictions. Place your bets accordingly.

1. Afleet Alex
2. Noble Causeway
3. Bellamy Road

It's been a long, shitty, exciting & draining couple of weeks, for reasons i'll not get into here... but selah. I just can't/won't let myself not fuck shit up, if ya know whatta mean.
Anyway, just to catch up...

I've been busy at work, now in the "lawn business". I have a route out in the sticks, which has afforded me some interesting opportunities. Such as...
-Smelling a lot of horse shit
-Seeing two cows hump
-Fishtailing & almost doing a donut with, a 20,000 lb. truck on a dirt road
-Getting zapped in the ass by an electric fence
-Seeing a Goat Fuck (which, coincidently, i don't know how anyone could confuse with a Rugby Scrum)

Other than that, i just have to chime in on the NBA Playoffs, which i've been unable to watch, since we've recently pulled a Bierlein & gotten rid of our cable. Since the First Round is well underway, i'll just give my Conference Finals predictions:

Detroit over Miami
San Antonio over Phoenix
Detroit over San Antonio in 7 games

Both one/two seeds - pretty boring, huh?

I fully realize that bitching about the weather here in Michigan (not to mention Ohio, where i lived prior) is fairly redundant... it's shit, constantly, with the exception of maybe 13 or 14 days a year. But what the goddamn hell? I mean, it's the end of f-ing April... APRIL - & we're getting snow. You gotta be kidding me.
Oh well, what can you do but bitch? Nobody gives a shit anyway...

Since it's been a while, it's playlist time. Albums i've been listening to lately:

1) Wire - Pink Flag
2) Right Time, Wrong Place - Otis Rush
3) Dixie Chicken - Little Feet
4) Harmful If Swallowed - Dane Cook
5) Real Gone - Tom Waits
6) The Madcap Laughs - Syd Barrett
7) Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy) - Brian Eno
Plus these two kick-ass Jethro Tull compilations that i burned.

Happy birthday, Day-Z. The big FOUR. That means she's 28 in people years... finally older than me. So get a job & start paying rent, bitch! Just kidding, happy traveler.
-cpb 4/20 {link}

Quick question - just how many blisters can you have on top of each other? Just wondering... just like that dude who thought we were annoying, lo so many years ago.
Quick bit of advice for dog owners - don't wait for 6 months to go out & pick up shit - it's much easier to do it incrementally, as opposed to trying to lift a 300 lb. bag of shit to the corner for the garbage man.

I just needed to make a comment about this little "mistake" that Mitch Albom made about a week & a half ago. What an unbelievable crock of shit - him doing it and the fact that he would have never "apologized" if he didn't already know he was going to get called on it. This peckerwood should be fired. I will say that i do not like - & never really have liked - Mitch Albom. I've always thought him a smug, pompous, holier than thou, jackass. Although i think he's an extremely talented writer, i've always thought his sportswriting was weak & his personality & face was annoying. That said, though, i wouldn't really care who it was, or what they were writing about... if a journalist makes stuff up or lies, they should be fired. As much as i enjoy Rob Parker's columns, if he wrote a story about a night on the town picking up male prostitutes with Joey Harrington & then it turned out to be a lie, i would think he should be fired too. Sad thing is, this isn't the first time Albom's been caught "fabricating". Screw you Mitch Albom... go back to writing books. Mitch Albom is dead, long live Mitch Albom.

-cpb 4/12 {link}

God Damn! People are just dropping left & right around here. Johnnie Cochran, Terri Schiavo & Pope J.P. Deuce... and now Saul Bellow and Prince Rainier III. Plus, Peter Jennings has the Cancer & is lookin' like shit. But more important than all that shit, something i missed a few days ago, was the passing of Mitch Hedberg. This, my friends, is a real tragedy, mainly cos he wasn't in his 80's, a vegetable or a cocksucking, heartless attorney. He was a Comedian... & a good one... & that is a true tragedy - cos, quite frankly, there aren't really that many around. Just saying...

And then there's Me. I am obviously on my way out. I've Fucked Up, Broken, Screwed, Bungled & Douched about as much as humanly possible... & i'm starting to get the feeling that the Glue Factory is calling my name, "Shame, shame."

-cpb 4/6 {link}

I would just like to quell a rumor that's been going about - i will not accept an invitation to become the next Pope. For the last time... i am NOT Catholic.

Anyway, i'll give a prediction for tonight's Big Game... i'm just hoping that i'll be able to stay awake for it. Fuck the West Coast. Who gives a shit if the game starts too early for some jaggoff in Los Angeles... nobody there gives a shit about a game between North Carolina & Illinois - unless they're gambling on it, & in that case it's probably better that they not watch it anyway.

Illinois - 82
North Carolina - 73

And just one more sports note - i've got to give it up to the Tiggers, 11-2 winners to open up the season. First Place, baby! Soak it up.

-cpb 4/4, 6:45 PM EST {link}

Well screw, damn MSU... serves 'em right for whatever the hell they did. Actually, that UNC/MSU was pretty damn exciting for a half... but both games were pretty weak down the stretch. Hopefully the Final game will be a bit more exciting... not that it really matters, though. Since they insist at starting the game at midnight, or whatever, i'll probably be asleep before it ends. Selah.
-cpb 4/1, 11:09 PM EST {link}

Illinois over Louisville
Michigan State over North Carolina

I've jumped on the Big 11 bandwagon... along with the MSU (whom i picked to lose in the first round just a few weeks ago) train. Bet heavily... this is THE word.
I just hope to hell (or heaven, i guess) that if Pope Johnny dies tonight that CBS doesn't cut into the games.
