An Artistic MediumIt is a great disservice that our society immediately equates things that are drawn or animated as being for children. Activists and parents groups around the nation become actively involved whenever something controversial, seedy, or otherwise "not safe" is presented in this form, because it is accused of being targeted "towards children." Cosider the fate of cigarette mascot Joe Camel. However, just as shows such as The Simpsons, Family Guy, King of the Hill, or Beavis and Butthead market adult-style humor through a traditionally "childish" medium, comic books give a look at our world, through either exaggerated or understated means, without necessarily being "for children."
