I am currently in Jacksonville, Florida finishing up my college career and getting my Bachelor of Science in Marine Science. I am originally from the town of Acton, Massachusetts located 30 minutes northwest of beautiful Boston. I have spent my entire life living in Massachusetts, with the exception of the time I have spent in Florida for college. I hope to continue living there, as I enjoy the available year round activities.

I was born in Massachusetts in September of 1978. After graduating High school, I worked at a Ford Dealership before attending Jacksonville University. I joined Lambda Chi Alpha during my freshman year, and after my sophomore year, I interned at the New England aquarium on the Whale Watches. I have spent the past 2 summers at the
New England Aquarium in Boston working on the Whale Watch and Science at Sea vessels as a naturalist. I have always enjoyed being outdoors and animals, and I hope to work in a field that allows me to continue working outdoors.

I enjoy playing or watching sports (baseball, hockey, football), playing my drumset, kayaking, canoeing, skiing, biking, camping, boating, fishing, offroading (or wheeling),
my Xterra, rollerblading, getting together with friends, partying, cooking (I make a mean French Onion Soup and Caeser Salad), reading, watching movies, and listening to music.

I enjoy reading a variety of books, and my favorite author is Jeffrey Archer. Recently, I have been reading disaster books such as "Lost at Sea," "The Perfect Storm," and "The Ice Masters." I have also been reading some scientific novels by Dr. Michael Ruse.

I am a big fan of most kinds of music, with the exception of twangy country, gangster rap, and "boy bands."  My favorite band is the Canadian progressive rock trio, Rush.  I saw them on both of their Boston stops last tour, and will be seeing any show nearby when they go on tour again.  They are releasing an album this spring after a 5-year hiatus begun under unforeseen circumstances. I have also been listening to a lot of Godsmack, Staind, Sevendust, Nickelback, Linkin Park, and Econoline Crush
.

You may have noticed the header above. I am in the New England Xterra Club (NEXTerra), and a group of us who live in the Waltham, Massachusetts area get together every month to have some food, drinks, and to talk anout various things.  When these gatherings started, they were held exclusively in Waltham, and the gatherings became known as WaX night. I had gone to one event at Bison County BBQ, and I had thought that the get togethers were a weekly thing.  After realizing they were a monthly event, I couldn't wait to meet up with my new-found friends either at Bison County, or at Jake and Earl's. We have since begun going to other restaurants, such as Red Bones in Davis Square, both for new experiences, and to allow other Xterra owners to join in the fun.  Who would have thought you could make a bunch of lifelong friends just by purchasing a vehicle?

So Jeff, What's New?

I have been working at the Museum of Science and History in Jacksonville as a Naturalist.  There are 31 species of animals that I am responsible for providing basic care.  Part of my job is preparing the animals food, cleaning their cages, and talking with the public about the animals. Classes have been going well, although I have been running around writing labatories and trying to stdy for exams and work, and of course, getting enough sleep. My socializing has been limited due to my lack of funds, but I have managed to get in a few inexpensive (ie, free) nights of partying.  Of course, now that I am recieving paychecks, I should have some more variety in my social activities.
As for what's coming up, I have some small plans for Spring break, spending my time here in Jacksonville working, and getting at least one day of wheeling in Ocala for a fun event being held there. I may also pop down to Orlando for a night or two, but I haven't set anything into stone.
